ABRA Points System

Puppies under one year of age.


Classes are as follows:

Classic Male 3-6 months old (1st place = 10 points, 2nd place = 5 points, 3rd place = 2 points)
Classic Male 6-9 months old (1st place = 10 points, 2nd place = 5 points, 3rd place = 2 points)
Classic Male 9-12 months old (1st place = 10 points, 2nd place = 5 points, 3rd place = 2 points)

Best Classic Male Puppy (Winner earns 10 more points)

Classic Female 3-6 months old (1st place = 10 points, 2nd place = 5 points, 3rd place = 2 points)
Classic Female 6-9 months old (1st place = 10 points, 2nd place = 5 points, 3rd place = 2 points)
Classic Female 9-12 months old (1st place = 10 points, 2nd place = 5 points, 3rd place = 2 points)

In order to earn a Junior Championship, the puppy must earn 75 points before their first birthday as well as a major win. A major win is defined as Best Classic/Standard or better.

When a puppy completes its championship it may not show as a puppy again. It may start competing against the adults in the 1-2 year old class right away.

Adults, one year plus.

Best In Show (Winner earns 20 more points unless winner is already a Champion)(As of August 29, 2006 all ABRA Champions enetered in the show may compete for the Best In Show Trophy)

In order to earn a Championship, the adult must earn 100 points and a major win. Points earned as a Puppy may be used toward the Adult Championship but an Adult Major must be won to become a Champion. A major win is defined as Best Classic/Standard or better.
(This was changed from Best Male/Female on August 29, 2006)

When a dog completes its Championship it may only show in the Best In Show class.
Grand Champions:

In order to become a ABRA Grand Champion the dog/bitch must first become an ABRA Champion and then win 5 Best In Show classes beating at least 3 other Champions each time.

Supreme Grand Champion:

In order to become an ABRA Supreme Grand Champion a dog/bitch must first become an ABRA Grand Champion and then have sired or produced 5 ABRA Champions.

The ABRA allowed point transfers from other show organizations until December 31, 2006.
